Sittingbourne confirm the return of Nick Davis for his third spell in charge after leaving league rivals VCD Athletic
SITTINGBOURNE have unveiled the return of Nick Davis as their new first team coach – just hours following his departure from their Isthmian League South East Division rivals VCD Athletic.
Sittingbourne finished their 38-match league campaign in tenth-place in the table, with 52 points, just one place and two points adrift of Crayford-based VCD Athletic.
The Vickers’ announced Davis’ departure from Oakwood earlier today and Sittingbourne confirmed that David has replaced Darren Blackburn at Woodstock Park.
“Sittingbourne FC are thrilled to announce the appointment of Nick Davis as first team coach,” said a club statement.
“Nick returns to us after not only playing for the team but also having two spells in the managerial hot seat co-managing the team from September 2013-July 2014 and also solo from October 2014-January 2018.
“The club believe that Nick has the knowledge, skills and connections to not only had first team matters and bring improvements to the club but also to have the time and ability to set up close working relationships with the Academy and youth in order to ensure the growth and success of the club in the coming years.”
Blackburn guided Sittingbourne to their highest league finish in nine years but left the club on Wednesday 4 May.
