SITTINGBOURNE have parted company with manager Darren Blackburn tonight.

The Brickies finished in tenth-place in the Isthmian League South East Division campaign, having collected 52 points from their 38 league games.

“We would like to thank Darren for all of his hard work and commitment over the last two years since stepping up from the number two role – a thanks that we are certain the fans will echo,” said a club statement.

“The board will now work diligently to identify the right candidate to take this club forward.

“This work will be done quickly but without undue haste, as we fully appreciate the importance of our decision to appoint a new manager who is the right fit for the club.”

Blackburn said: “Gutted to be departing Sittingbourne and respect the board’s decision to let me go.

“Proud to manage the club to its highest finish in nine years.  To the fans, players and staff, you were absolute class.”

Sittingbourne finished in ninth-place at the end of the 2012-13 campaign.
