Welling Town unveil Louis Dean as their new manager
WELLING TOWN have appointed Louis Dean as their new manager.
Dean brings a wealth of experience in both management and coaching with his time working at Welling United under their reserve and academy set-up and in the dug-out as assistant manager at Corinthian and East Grinstead Town and at Chelsea’s and Charlton Athletic’s Academy set-ups.
Dean gained his UEFA A Licence at the age of 28, and has a BA Hons Degree in PE and Sport.
“Louis has considerable local contacts on and off the field and we feel he offers the perfect blend of hands-on management and coaching that will enable the club to continue pushing forwards in the coming years as we add more youth sides and plan for our own home facility,” said chairman Kevin Oakes.
Dean will be joined by assistant Ryan Pacey and coaches Marc Powell and Rob Dillon, who all bring valuable experience to the Bayliss Avenue outfit.
“As a result of the additions, previous assistant Mike Jones and coach Joel Weston have left the club,” added Mr Oakes, in his statement on www.wellingtownfc.co.uk.
“We wish them well for the future and thank them for everything they helped the club achieve in such a short space of time.
“We have two or three additions planned but we very much hope the current crop of players who have performed so well to get us to the top of the table will be excited about the future and want to carry on the good work.”
Welling Town sacked Richard Dimmock last Saturday 24 November and Dean takes charge of The Boots for the first time when Sutton Athletic visit Bayliss Avenue on Saturday 8 December.
Welling Town are presently in first place in the Southern Counties East Football League First Division table with 39 points from 17 games, four points clear of Bridon Ropes.
