Our start to the season has been as predicted and there’s no surprise or alarm bells, says Snodland Town boss Simon Copley
SNODLAND TOWN manager Simon Copley says he has players’ back available for tomorrow’s FA Vase First Qualifying Round tie at Kent Football United.
Snodland Town sit in eleventh-place in the Southern Counties East Football League First Division table, having banked four points from their opening five games, while their Dartford based hosts are three places below them with four points.
“Our start to the season has been as predicted and there’s no surprise or alarm bells,” said Arsenal under 14's coach Copley.
“We put a squad together at the very last minute, taking over the team late and bit by bit we’ve added and removed, which is like a pre-season, a month already in.”
Snodland Town lost 2-0 at home to Lydd Town last weekend and Copley revealed he had players’ missing for the game.
“We played with only 12 players with people being away and having no budget means we aren’t expecting people to not spend time with their families or go on holidays etc.
“Tomorrow we have 18 players’ and have a selection headache, so we are where we knew we would be and we are patient with the journey here.
“The chairman and board members are brilliantly supportive and fully understand this is a long process for us and not a flash in the pan situation and therefore we know we will hit some barriers as we patiently build a squad for the future.
“Tomorrow we have Kent Football United, probably in a similar boat with the guys there taking over late on and we are certainly in a far stronger place this week with availability than last.
“With that in mind, I am confident we have the ability to perform this weekend and hopefully progress into the next round.”
