Snodland Town lost 3-0 at Lewisham Borough yesterday, a result that leaves them on seven points from their 13 league outings, level on points with Phoenix Sports Reserves.
Rice and Austin have been managing and playing at Kings Hill for the past five years, taking the club up to the Kent County League Premier Division for the first time in the clubs history.
The pair have appointed Antonio De Vivo (coach), Lee Jay Reilly (coaching assistant), Charlie Belcher (fitness coach), Matt Ellis Lehner (goalkeeping coach), Luke Jenner (medical) and Sam Sweeting (sports therapist).
Current Snodland Town staff, Jim Beaumont (player-coach), Aaron Kempster (first team coach) and Steve Ratledge (kitman) have all agreed to continue in their current roles.
Rice said: “We are excited by the challenge we’ve taken on and are confident we can deliver the remit given to us by the chairman and board.
“We are delighted to be able to bring with us our management team, that was important, and we have all brought in to the project. Announcements on the playing squad will be made shortly.”
Snodland’s chairman Dave Jeal added: “We were really impressed with Kane and Simon’s passion and enthusiasm and we are looking forward to working with them both. We are sure that they will be able to turn our season around.”
Kane and Austin’s first game in charge of the club will be a trip to Hextable to play eleventh-placed side FC Elmstead next Saturday 1 December (15:00).
