Rochester United boss Lloyd Hume appoints Phil Miles to join his management team
ROCHESTER UNITED manager Lloyd Hume has appointed Phil Miles to join his management team.
A club statement said: “We are delighted to formally announce that Phil Miles has joined the Spartans management team.
“Phil brings a wealth of footballing knowledge, having previously worked with clubs such as Chatham Town, Ebbsfleet United, Faversham Town and Rusthall.
“His experience will be a huge boost for the Spartans as we look to push on and fight for promotion.”
Hume was unveiled as the club’s manager on Friday 4 September 2020, replacing Lee Garlinge, who has since joined Chatham Town as reserve team boss.
Hume, who managed Maidstone United in their Kent League and Isthmian League days while the club was playing in exile from the County town, follows in the footsteps of his brother Matt in managing the club.
The Rede Court Road outfit went into Covid-19 lockdown in third-place in the Southern Counties East Football League First Division table with 17 points from seven league games.
The club are four points adrift of the league leaders, Sporting Club Thamesmead and the four promotion places are also occupied by Kennington and Holmesdale.
