Hythe Town re-appoint Steven Watt as manager and former Sittingbourne boss Darren Blackburn comes in as assistant
HYTHE TOWN have re-appointed Steven Watt as manager tonight.
The Scotland-born 37-year-old stepped down from the role in November due to budget cuts at Reachfields Stadium.
James Rogers took over the role and was in charge for 31 games before stepping down on 11 May after deciding to continue his playing career elsewhere.
“The club are delighted to announce the return of Steve Watt, who is once again in charge at Reachfields,” said a club statement.
“Steve will be announcing his backroom staff over the next couple of days.”
Former Sittingbourne manager Darren Blackburn has been appointed Watt's assistant manager.
"Looking forward to working with and learning from Steve Watt at Hythe Town - glad to be off the merry-go-round. It's time to get to work with some great lads and decent football people," said Blackburn.
The Cannons finished in seventeenth-place in the Isthmian League South East Division table with 39 points on the board from their 38 games.
The club finished six and nine points clear of Phoenix Sports and Whitstable Town respectively, who have both been relegated to the Southern Counties East Football League Premier Division.
Whitstable Town unveiled former Tunbridge Wells boss Richard Styles as their new manager tonight and he will once again be assisted by Dan Morrin.
