GREENWICH BOROUGH will reach new heights of success, says their club ambassador Nicolas Skinner.

The club’s three-year stay in the Isthmian League came to an end at the end of last season after finishing bottom of the Division One South East Division.

Joint-managers Steve Sallis and Steve O’Boyle has since vacated the hot-seat and the club have sealed a groundshare deal at Phoenix Sports’ ground at Mayplace Road East in Barnehurst.

Chatham Town manager James Collins appointed O’Boyle to his management team yesterday, joining Brad Sandeman and Tony Hine at their Southern Counties East Football League Premier Division rivals.

Greenwich Borough appointed Ben Kotey as their new manager on 20 May with Steve Pascal coming in as chairman and Skinner returning as club ambassador.

“An exciting new season is approaching,” Mr Skinner told www.greenwichboroughfc.co.uk.

“New challenges are ahead and Greenwich Borough FC looks forward to joining the Southern Counties East Football League once again.

“The club has previously had tremendous success in this league and will, with no doubt, enjoy more.

“In 2013, when the League was renamed, my late father David Skinner bought Greenwich Borough FC to pursue a life-long interest in football.

“My father saw the proud and longstanding history of the club and wished to continue its legacy.

“In season 2014-15, the club could once again feel proud, by continuing the legacy of honours with a victory in the Premier Division Cup.

“The following years saw the club set new records and gain new titles.

“After the death of my father, several key figures in the club sought new challenges and the club faced several difficulties.

“Luckily, in the early summer of 2018, a new consortium took over the club.  A new management with similar philosophies as my father David Skinner.

“I would like to express a true and genuine appreciation for the new management. Without you, Greenwich Borough FC likely would not exist today.

“These are truly exciting times, as the club’s restructuring is taking place.  I have full confidence in the new first team management, players, volunteers, loyal supporters and new supporters.

“Together Greenwich Borough FC will reach new heights of success.

“It is also important that we, as a club, show great gratitude towards Phoenix Sports for all the help they’ve given Greenwich Borough FC.

“I look forward to seeing everyone, in the beginning of August at Greenwich Borough’s first game in the Southern Counties East Football League.”

The club have yet announced any pre-season games ahead of the new season.
