Wings mourn the loss of stalwart
It is with great sadness that we have to announce the tragic death of Welling United stalwart Graham Hobbins.
Graham was taken ill after the Wings last home match against Worcester City on Saturday and passed away peacefully with his family by his bedside on Monday morning.
A statement issued by the club on their website www.wellingunited.com said: “Graham together with his brother Barrie dedicated his life to the club as General Manager and will be so sadly missed by all his friends, colleagues, supporters and the playing staff.
“He leaves us with the team second in the Conference South and through to the last eight of the FA Trophy which is perhaps the most fitting and timely tribute to his great contribution to the club over so many years.
“Arrangements for Graham’s funeral will be announced in due course, but in the meantime his family would like to thank everyone for their sympathy and support.
“On behalf of everyone who knew Graham we express our sincere condolences to his family who will be in our thoughts at such a difficult time.”
www.kentishfootball.co.uk would like to offer our sincere condolences to his family, friends and everybody at Welling United Football club during this sad time.
