WHITSTABLE TOWN boss Scott Porter, has enticed striker Danny Williams, 25, to drop down a division to sign for the club.

Williams scored 14 goals for Ryman League Division One South side Herne Bay last season but Porter has won the race to re-sign the striker.

Whitstable Town finished in the top five in the Southern Counties East Football League Premier Division table in Porter’s first full season in charge of the club, collecting 69 points from their 38 games.

Porter has already snapped up central defender Craig Cloke from Hythe Town from the League above and is delighted to bring Williams back to Belmont Road.

He said: “Danny Williams is another great signing from the league above.  He will bring goals, pace and quality to the team at Whitstable.

“I’m glad I sealed the deal and got his signature as a number of clubs in the league’s above were after him.  It shows the level of players I want to bring to this club.”
