White ready to swoop in transfer market
Terry White held one-to-one meetings with every Dover Athletic player as he met the squad for the first time this week, writes Justin Allen.
White, brought in as a caretaker manager after Clive Walker was granted sick leave by the club, says it was a very encouraging first training session under his command.
He told www.doverathletic.com : "If we are as positive in games as we were during Tuesday night's training session then we are going to have a great chance of achieving our goals this season. We had a team meeting and I wanted to meet each and every player individually.
"It was a very good exercise and I'm delighted by the response I got from all the players."
Terry is currently chasing a number of transfer targets - but the club will not reveal any names until a deal is confirmed.
He said: "The players we are after are contracted to other clubs and it would not be right of me to comment on them at this time.
"But supporters can be sure that we are working hard and I'm hopeful of bringing in a player of the same ability and standard as Jon Wallis."
One player, who is currently top of Terry's wishlist, is unlikely to sign in time for Sunday's (2pm) Ryman One top-of-the-table clash with Dulwich Hamlet at Champion Hill because he is currently suffering from flu.
