We will not be held to ransom, says Darts boss Burman
DARTFORD boss Tony Burman will not be held to ransom when he entices new players to Princes Park ahead of their Ryman Premier League campaign, which kicks off on 16th August, writes Stephen McCartney.
Burman has already retained ten of his Ryman League Division One North title winning squad with Tony Kessell, Jamie Coyle, Adam Flanagan, John Guest, Steve Norman, Tommy Osborne, Ryan Hayes, Eddie McClements, Alex O’Brien and Brendon Cass staying.
Burman, speaking to www.dartfordfc.co.uk today , kept us up to date with the latest situation at Princes Park.
Yohance Lewis, Mark Green, Tom Bradbrook and Luke Piscina have all been asked to come back for pre-season training.
And Burman said: “I have also asked Junior Kadi and Nick Barnes to come back for pre-season but I have put conditions on their return with both players indicating they want to accept my challenge.
“I am still talking to Jay May and hope to have things sorted by the end of the month.
“I have released Richard Avery and Brad Potter, two players who have been excellent for this club but have had limited chances last season.
“Both players need to get a very good season under their belts and progress their personal careers as they are going to be two very good players in the future.”
Looking ahead to making new signings, Burman revealed: “I am also talking to a number of players. Two of which had agreed to come and then changed their minds at the last moment, which I was very disappointed about.
“But you have to move on and try and be patient and not be held to ransom.
“We do need to strengthen the squad and that will happen before the start of the new season.”
