We will need to be at our best if we are to have a chance of beating Eastbourne, says Hugo Langton

BROMLEY coach Hugo Langton says the players’ have to be at their best if they are to claim three points against play-off chasing Eastbourne Borough on Saturday.

The Ravens are eleven points clear at the top of the Skrill South table and welcome an Eastbourne Borough side that are presently in sixth-place in the table.

It was a good Christmas for the Hayes Lane outfit after claiming four points off Ebbsfleet United over two games and coming from behind to beat struggling Whitehawk with a 2-1 win in Brighton.

“The weather’s not affected us too badly as we’ve mostly been playing, with just last Saturday’s home game called off,” said Langton.

“We’ve trained properly throughout as well.”

Bromley’s home game against Concord Rangers, which fell foul to a waterlogged pitch last weekend, has been swiftly re-arranged for next Tuesday, 14 January (7:45pm).

Eastbourne Borough, meanwhile, arrive in Kent with 32 points from 21 games and were defeated 2-1 away to Tonbridge Angels in their last game on 28 December 2013.

Langton said: “Eastbourne Borough are next up for us at home. They’re a good side, they train three mornings a week and they get the ball down and play some good stuff.

“We will need to be at our best if we are to have a chane of winning.”

Bromley lead the Conference South table with 53 points form 22 games and are unbeaten at Hayes Lane in the league this season.  They are  eleven points clear of second-placed Eastleigh, who have three games in hand.

Eastleigh play Dover Athletic in The FA Carlsberg Trophy Third Round (last sixteen) on Saturday afternoon.

Meanwhile, Bromley have been awarded a massive boost when Dagenham & Redbridge boss Wayne Burnett said the club can keep on-loan striker Bradley Goldberg, 20, for the rest of the season.

Goldberg has scored sixteen goals in all competitons for the side, managed by dad Mark Goldberg.

“We made a promise to Bromley that they would have him for the season,” Burnett is reported to have said.

“We’ve allowed him out for that time and he is certainly been doing well so far, but we will continue to monitor his progress.”
