We've set a standard and we've got to keep it, says Justin Luchford

FAVERSHAM TOWN boss Justin Luchford says he wants the same performance down at Eastbourne Town that they showed in the FA Carlsberg Trophy against Kingstonian yesterday, writes Stephen McCartney.
The Lilywhites put on a brave, battling display against the high-flying Ryman Premier League giants and were knocked out by two second half penalties, which were converted by danger men David Gray and Dean Lodge.
Faversham pulled a goal back through Dane Luchford’s fourth goal of the season, but older brother Justin was a proud man following his side’s performance during the First Qualifying Round tie, which attracted the largest crowd of the season to Salters Lane.
Luchford, who was speaking to www.kentishfootball.co.uk, wants his side to replicate yesterday’s performance at Eastbourne Town next weekend.
“You get to a bar and they’ve set a bar today, they’ve set a standard and we’ve got to keep to it,” he said.
“I’ve said to them we’ve got Eastbourne and then we’ve got Corinthian-Casuals and then we’ve got Chipstead, they’re the sides that are in and around us but we’ve got to pick up points.
“If we perform like that we’re not going to have any problems at all.
“We’ve played two sides this year that have been better than us and that was Metropolitan Police and Leatherhead and they’re the top two teams in the league, so if we can perform like we did today we’ll have no problems in the next few weeks.”
Faversham began their inaugural Ryman League Division One South campaign by picking up seven points from their first three league games, taking them to second in the table, but since then form has nosedived and since then the side have picked up only four points.
