Welling United sign former Coggeshall Town striker Nnamdi Nwachuku: I am filled with excitement and cannot wait to get started on this new chapter in my football career
WELLING UNITED manager Mark Goldberg has snapped up former Coggeshall Town striker Nnamdi Nwachuku.
Nwachuku came through youth ranks at both Reading and Colchester United, before embarking on a four-year spell with Coggeshall, being part of the wide which won the Eastern Counties League title in 2019.
He scored 101 goals in his first 100 appearances for the Coggeshall, including 44 in just 34 appearances during the 16/17 campaign.
“It is with a heavy heart that I must announce I will no longer be playing for Coggeshall Town after four unforgettable years at the club,” Nwachuku said on his Twitter account.
“I am filled with excitement and cannot wait to get started on this new chapter in my football career with Welling United, a club with so much potential, passion and a real hunger to achieve great things.
“I feel like the football club will provide me with the platform to go and express myself with the great players they have, players I have only heard great things about and seen clips that back up what great players they are. I cannot wait to get into the side and push on,” Nwachuku told www.wellingunited.com.
Nwachuku will be available for selection for tonight’s trip to Slough Town.
The Wings are in sixteenth-place in the Vanarama National League South table with 15 points from 14 games, while hosts Slough Town are in fifth-place with 24 points on the board.
