Vice-chairman Chris Roots stands down at Welling United
WELLING UNITED owner Mark Goldberg says Chris Roots wishes to stand down from his vice-chairman position at Park View Road.
“I would like to take this opportunity to thank Chris for all his hard work and the support that he has given me over the past four seasons and to wish him all the best for the future, from myself and the many people that he has worked with and come into contact with during this time,” Goldberg said in a statement.
“I am pleased to announce that Chris has accepted my offer for him to become a vice-president of the club and I look forward to seeing him to attend matches during the forthcoming 2020-21 season, whenever that manages to get underway and for many seasons to follow.”
The Wings were in thirteenth-place in the Vanarama National League South table with 42 points from their 34 league games at the time of the campaign being suspended due to the coronavirus outbreak crisis.
