HUGO LANGTON says he will be working hard to bring better times back to Welling United.

The 42-year-old, full-time coach, who resides in Tonbridge, was appointed as assistant manager at Park View Road today, working alongside newly appointed manager Jamie Coyle and player-coach Jack Parkinson.

Langton was coach at Bromley, playing a key role in helping the Ravens win the Conference South title under Mark Goldberg in April 2015.

Since then, Langton has spent 18 months at National League South Eastbourne Borough, where he fulfilled a number of roles, culminating in caretaker manager towards the end of last season.

“Welling’s a great club with a lot of potential,” said Langton.

“I’m looking forward to being reunited with Mark Goldberg, who I’ve had a lot of success previously with.

“I’ve known Jamie (Coyle) for a long time and I’m really looking forward to supporting him.

“I’ve known Jack (Parkinson) as a player for many years and with Tristan Lewis, I think we have the makings of a good off-field team.

“I’ve always tried to choose the manager’s I work with and Jamie is someone I believe can have an excellent management career ahead of him.

“I know this League well having spent four years in it with Bromley and more recently Eastbourne Borough.

“I’ll help Jamie build and coach what we hope will be a good side that can be competitive in the division.

“Welling has always been a good club that has maybe suffered a little in recent years and everyone will be working hard to bring better times back to the club.”

Former Dartford, Leatherhead and Margate striker Tom Bradbrook and midfielder Beckha-Kah Dembele, who finished last season on loan at Thamesmead Town after coming through Dartford’s Academy, sign for the Wings, as has former Tonbridge Angels' left-back Jack Parter.
