Welling United coach Jamie Day: We will need to be at our best if we are going to get anything from this game
WELLING UNITED coach Jamie Day says his side will need to be at their best to beat local rivals Ebbsfleet United tomorrow.
The Wings go into the Kent derby now in the bottom four in the Vanarama National League South table, having collected three wins and three draws from their 16 league games, a point above the relegation zone.
Ebbsfleet United arrive at Park View Road in third-place, having claimed nine wins, five draws and two defeats in the league this season.
Welling United were held to a 1-1 draw at Gosport Borough last weekend and former Ebbsfleet United manager Day is relishing the game.
He said: “We were a little disappointed with conceding so late last week when we had defended fairly well but a draw was probably a fair result and it keeps us unbeaten in two away games.
“Saturday will be a tough game against a very good side who no doubt will be looking to get promotion this season.
“We will need to be at our best if we are going to get anything from this game but one we are all looking forward to and hopefully a good performance to continue our current run.”
