DOVER ATHLETIC striker Shaun Welford is the latest player to put ink on a new contract, writes Justin Allen.
The Northumberland born striker made a big impact as the club ran away with the Ryman Premier League title and got better as the season progressed.
Manager Andy Hessenthaler, speaking to www.doverathletic.com today said, "Shaun was a key player for us and we beleive he is continue to continue to do well for us at a higher level.
"I'm delighted Shaun wants to stay and now we're only waiting on a couple more players to sign a new deal. But we won't be waiting beyond this week, as I have irons in the fire."
Striker Frannie Collin and midfielder Alan Pouton are still weighing up their contract offers - and it is hoped they will put pen to paper.
But Hessenthaler added: "We can't wait beyond this week because I want the squad nailed down as soon as possible. We've got players who want to come here - so the ball is in the court of those we've offered deals to."
