We just need to be consistent, says Erith Town boss Ennio Gonnella

Thursday 09th October 2014
ERITH TOWN manager Ennio Gonnella is searching for consistency ahead of their trip to struggling Deal Town on Saturday.

The Dockers climbed into the bottom four in the Southern Counties East Football League table after stunning Tunbridge Wells with a 4-2 win at Culverden Stadium last Saturday.

Erith Town have collected two wins, three draws and eight defeats this season and travel to basement side Deal Town on Saturday looking to pull away from the wrong end of the table.

“Saturday’s game will be a test for us to gather some consistency,” said Gonnella.

“Going in to Saturday with a lot of confidence from last Saturday’s results, Deal will need the points just as bad as us so I’m expecting a very tough game.

“Against Tunbridge Wells was a case of mixed emotions. Again we seem to react from going a goal down, which with the way the game was going was undeserved from the home side.

“After the break we showed great quality, heart and desire to show we are very much capable of competing with the top of the table.

“The last seven weeks for me has been my pre-season as such but Saturday proved the squad is getting there.

“We just now need to be consistent.”
