We have to make sure out good football translates into points, says Sevenoaks Town boss Levett

SEVENOAKS TOWN manager Keith Levett says his side are capable of finishing in the top half of the Kent League table if they turn their good performance into wins, writes Stephen McCartney.
Two goals apiece from influential skipper Lee Hales and fellow midfielder Adam Marsh secured a morale boosting 4-1 home win over arch-rivals Tunbridge Wells last night, a result that keeps them in eighth place in the table with seven wins and two draws from 16 games.
Levett, 42, who lives in Horsmonden and runs the Welling United academy, wants to string back-to-back league wins for the first time this season when fifth-from-bottom Lordswood visit Greatness Park on Saturday.
“Lordswood are a much improved side,” warned Levett. “I’ve looked at their results and they’ve picked up. They’ve had some decent results so you would say looking at their results they’re an up and coming side.
“We will expect a tough game against a side that’s well organised, that’s taking points of teams so we will have to make sure that we come out on top.
“Obviously we need three points again because we need to get back-to-back wins. I don’t think we’ve had two back-to-back wins this season.
“That’s really important because if you get two, then three, then all of a sudden the points start accumulating and that’s what we need to do, get another win really but I’m sure Lordswood will be saying the same thing to their players.
“What I’ve seen of the league this season I really think each team could have a go at each team on any given day. You’ve seen the results, the league is sort of wide open. Bottom teams beat top teams so we certainly don’t expect a sot game because of where they are in the league.”
Levett says he is happy with his side’s current league position.
“We want to do as well as we can, like any team would say the same thing, but we want to finish as high as we can, so that’s what we’re aiming for,” said Levett.
“I don’t think that’s any different to any other manager. They’ll tell you the same thing.”
He added: “You’ve got to go into every game thinking you can try and work hard and get three points every game. We’re trying to get as many points as we can and if we finish in the top half, which I think looking at the way we’ve played, we are a top half side but thinking it and doing it is not necessarily the same so we have to make sure our good football translates into points and not just play good football and draw or lose.”
