We have the quality to get the job finished, says Cloke
CRAIG CLOKE has found a great way to recover quickly from his knee injury hell - by taking up aerobics, writes Justin Allen.
The Dover Athletic ace, who hopes to be back for pre-season, has been going through his paces with crocked team-mate John Keister.
And Cloke, speaking to www.doverathletic.com, is confident the training will accelerate his return to action.
He said: "Since John has been out injured, we've been doing some aerobic training on the pitch before matches. I'm still knackered today, two days after going through my paces at Tooting on Saturday.
"But, in seriousness, it's been good fun - and helps speed up my recovery, because I can't wait to get back into action.
"I am hoping to be back by pre-season. That's the plan - so fingers crossed."
The versatile Cloke has been receiving treatment from the Kent Cricket Club physio, who is staggered with the progress he is making.
He said: "I am way ahead of schedule but the Kent physio told me not to get too excited about it. He thinks I'm doing very well but it's important not to rush back too early.
"I'm now running again and doing the aerobic training - and can see the light at the end of the tunnel."
Cloke has been amazed by the huge lead Whites have built up at the top of the table and reckons his team-mates will finally put the title race to bed with victory against rivals Staines at Crabble on Saturday.
He said: "The lads are well up for the Staines game, everyone can't wait, as we all believe that our team is much better and can prove it by beating them at Crabble.
"Victory in that game should be the end of their challenge - but having a big cushion is good security too. However, as the gaffer keeps saying, it's not over until we've got all the points needed on the board.
"Anything is possible in football and we've got to close it out. I am very sure we will - we have the quality to get the job finished.”
