We believe in playing football, insists Kent League's bottom side

Sevenoaks Town are currently enduring their worst season back in the Kentish Observer League – their even worse than Sporting Bengal – but joint-manager Bob Pittaway insists “we believe in playing football,” writes Stephen McCartney. The Greatness Park outfit finished their first two campaigns back in the league in respectable 12th and 11th positions.

But this season has been a wretched one, winning only three league games and scoring just 15 goals during their 27 league outings – the worst record in the league.

“We are really looking forward to next season,” said Pittaway, who along with Derek Moore moved from Dartford after the resignation of John Adams, after the white haired coach, now back at Erith Town, replaced Gary Davies at the helm.

“We believe in playing football.  Most of the teams in this league don’t play football.  All they want to do is try and hit the front and try and intimidate teams and score goals that way.

“But we are going to hopefully challenge for honours by playing football,” he told the club’s website www.sevenoakstownfc.org

Sevenoaks aren’t expected to get much change from their last three league games.  After travelling to Whitstable Town on Saturday, they host VCD Athletic (Wednesday 19th April) and Maidstone United (Saturday 22nd April), which looks to be the Stones’ last league game as a Kent League club.
