We’ll leave nothing out there to make sure we pick up the points, says Tunbridge Wells boss Jason Bourne

TUNBRIDGE WELLS manager Jason Bourne insists his side will leave nothing out on the pitch as they go in search of points against Deal Town on Saturday.

The Wells are struggling in the bottom four in the Southern Counties East Football League Premier Division table, having collected three wins, three draws and six defeats this season.

Derek Hares’ Deal Town arrive at Culverden Stadium three places higher and with a playing record of three wins, five draws and six defeats in the league.

Tunbridge Wells go into the game on the back of a 1-0 home win over Whitstable Town, before their game at Rochester United last weekend fell victim to a waterlogged pitch.

“After the disappointing postponement away to Rochester last week, we are raring to go after the home victory against Whitstable a couple of weeks ago,” said Bourne.

“Despite our league position, we have plenty of games in hand but obviously would rather have the points on the board.

“The squad is finally settling, which has been the hardest part this season, but we now have a great group of lads to represent the club.”

Bourne revealed his team news ahead of Deal Town’s visit.

He said: “We hope to have Ryan Crandley back after a four-week lay-off with a hamstring injury, but Perry Spackman is still a week or so off.  Unfortunately, Tom Bryant will not be a quick fix as he has a stress fracture and despite his best efforts to get back quickly he needs to rest up to make a full recovery.   Tom will complete light training this week and we’ll go from there.

“The support at the Culverden, yet again, will be a good one. We’ll leave nothing out there to make sure we pick up the points.”

Tunbridge Wells took advantage of Maidstone United’s artificial pitch by beating a Stones’ side 3-0 on Tuesday night, courtesy of goals from Charlie Cornford (x2) and Tom Mackelden.

Bourne said: “Between games we have kept ourselves sharp with the usual training session and a behind-closed-doors friendly against Maidstone United, allowing us to have a look at a few things and keep us all sharp come the game.”
