Tunbridge Wells swiftly appoint new manager from within

TUNBRIDGE WELLS have today appointed their new manager from within - with Martin Larkin taking the reigns following Mike Robbins' departure earlier in the week.

Board spokesman Joe Croker, speaking to www.tunbridgewellsfc.co.uk , said putting Robbins' assistant in charge of team affairs was important.

"Martin is young and enthusiastic with a passion and understanding for the game," said the club secretary in his statement.

"He was offered the position because of the excellent work he did with the team during last season and because he shares the board's vision of where the club should be and how it will achieve enduring success."

Larkin will be assisted by Brad Sandemen, who has been appointed assistant manager, and Greg Thurstans becomes first team coach.

Sandeman has a wealth of experience having played at a very high standard - including in the Football League - and he possesses all of the qualities necessary to effortlessly make the successful transition from player to management.

Thurstons, meanwhile, has some very impressive coaching qualifications, as he is a B-License holder and is undertaking his A-License at Lilleshall this summer.

During his time with the Culverden Stadium club, he has impressed with both his knowledge and coaching skills.

By appointing from within the club, is building on what has already been achieved and allows the club to continue to build for enduring success.

Larkin, also speaking to www.tunbridgewellsfc.co.uk, added, "I am delighted to have been given the opportunity to manage Tunbridge Wells, and I'm keen to repay the faith that both the board and the players have shown me this week."
