Troubled Folkestone Invicta prepare for administration

Monday 29th June 2009
FOLKESTONE INVICTA’S financial controller Andy Ingleston has confirmed that the next step for the troubled Cheriton Road club is administration, writes Stephen McCartney.

The Ryman League Division One South club were waiting for financial assistance from a last gasp sugar daddy by 9am this morning – but this didn’t materialise.

“I am very sad to report that I understand no suitable offers have been received by the deadline this morning so can only assume that the club will proceed to administration,” Mr Ingleston told the fans’ forum at www.folkestoneinvicta.co.uk.

He added: “As soon as anything definite is known I will ensure it is reported.”

The club will be deducted ten points at the start of the forthcoming season - a new ruling for the Ryman Football League.
