Tozer opts for Thamesmead move
THAMESMEAD TOWN have tonight added Lewis Tozer, 24, to their squad, ahead of Saturday’s FA Cup preliminary round trip to Waltham Forest, writes Stephen McCartney.
Mead manager Keith McMahon was keen to bring a defender to Bayliss Avenue, with injuries to defenders Lew Watts (broken toe/twisted knee) and Lee Coburn (bruised shin).
Full-back Tozer arrives from neighbouring Blue Square South outfit Fisher Athletic and has previously played Kent League football for Erith & Belvedere.
“I’m really pleased we’ve managed to capture him,” McMahon told www.thamesmeadtownfc.co.uk tonight.
“Lewis turned down more lucrative offers from other clubs and the lure of what we have planned for the club proved attractive to him.”
McMahon, who is the manager of the Ryman League Division One North club, was referring to the major £4m re-development of Bayliss Avenue, in time for the 2009-10 season.
