Tonbridge Angels unveil the arrival of former Margate striker Louis Collins
TONBRIDGE ANGELS manager Jay Saunders has unveiled the arrival of former Margate striker Louis Collins.
The 20-year-old scored 13 goals for his dad Micky Collins during his time at Isthmian League South East Division side Sevenoaks Town last season before signing for Margate to play under Saunders in the division above.
“I’m really looking forward to having Louis with us,” Saunders told the club website.
“For his age he has already achieved loads but I know there is much more to come from him and I believe coming to our club is exactly the right move at this stage in his career.
“Our supporters will take to him because he works very hard but also has quality.”
The former Dover Athletic striker played in Tonbridge Angels’ junior ranks.
Meanwhile, Saunders has retained the services of defensive midfielder Doug Loft, full-back Craig Braham-Barrett and centre-half Sonny Miles, 31, who has made 478 appearances for the club in two spells.
Tonbridge Angels appointed former Margate manager Saunders on 9 May following the departure of Steve McKimm after the club finished in sixteenth-place in the National League South last season.
McKimm has since been appointed the manager of Isthmian League Premier Division side Carshalton Athletic with Barry Moore continuing his assistant manager’s role.
