Tonbridge Angels boss Steve McKimm releases two players after FA Trophy exit
TONBRIDGE ANGELS manager Steve McKimm has released two players after being knocked out of The FA Trophy last night.
Striker Jason Williams scored four goals in 22 appearances for the club after joining the Longmead Stadium club in October 2019.
McKimm told www.tonbridgeangels.co.uk:” We, unfortunately, have not in recent weeks seen the best of Jason due to a run of injuries, which has severely limited his game time.
“His release will allow me to free up funds for the clubs playing budget.
“I would like to thank Jason for his efforts while with us and wish him the best of luck for the future.”
Meanwhile, former Eastbourne Borough left-back Kristian Campbell has also been released after making 14 first-team appearances for the club after making the switch from Priory Lane during the summer.
The club were knocked out of The FA Trophy in the Second Round after losing 1-0 at home to Isthmian League Premier Division side Hornchurch last night.
Tonbridge Angels are presently sitting in fourteenth-place in the Vanarama National League South table with 13 points from their opening 11 league outings.
