We've probably started better than people expected, admits Tonbridge Angels boss Steve McKimm

Friday 18th September 2015

TONBRIDGE ANGELS manager Steve McKimm says he is delighted with his side’s start to the Ryman Premier League campaign.

The Angels are sitting in second-place in the table with 20 points from 9 games, three points adrift of leaders Grays Athletic and are on an eleven match unbeaten run.

They host Leiston at Longmead Stadium tomorrow, seven days before travelling to Suffolk to play the same opposition in The FA Cup Second Qualifying Round.

“We’ve probably started better than people expected,” admits McKimm, who finished in the bottom five – four points above the relegation zone - in his first full season in charge.

“We have to concentrate to try and maintain it.

“Leiston are a good, strong side, which will make it very difficult tomorrow.

“We’ll try our hardest and try to get a positive result.”
