To be successful we need to maintain a consistent squad, says Herne Bay boss Sam Denly

HERNE BAY manager Sam Denly has unveiled the signing of defender Liam Quinn tonight.

Quinn, who lives in Herne Bay, is an experienced Ryman League player who has captained every club he has played for.

“He is a natural leader,” Denly told the club’s website.

“He has had a lot of clubs chasing his signature and I am pleased to welcome him to Herne Bay as we continue to build for the future.”

Denly has confirmed that Jack Delo, Gary Sayer, Connor Sanders, Michael Turner, Nathan Eastwood, Joe Nelder, Sam Hasler, Ben Brown, Jordan Casey, James Turner and Stuart King have all committed to the Ryman League Division One South club.

Three youngsters, Harry Brown, Kane Butler and Ben Kitcherside have also signed contracts at the Winch’s Field club.

Denly added: “Many of these lads have had other clubs after them, but despite being offered lucrative terms elsewhere, they have all committed to Herne Bay Football Club.

“The squad is starting to take shape for the coming season. I have always said that for me it’s a long term plan and to be successful we need to maintain a consistent squad with players committing to me and the football club. That’s exactly what’s happening.”
