This is a period that tests and stretches everyone's squads, says Bromley coach Hugo Langton

BROMLEY coach Hugo Langton says the main focus over the festive period is tomorrow’s home game against St Albans City.

The Ravens are in second place in the Vanarama Conference South table with 36 points from 18 games.

Mark Goldberg’s side are six points adrift of leaders Boreham Wood, but they do have a couple of games in hand.

Ninth-placed St Albans City visit Hayes Lane tomorrow, followed by their first Boxing Day trip to Essex, to play Canvey Island based Concord Rangers.

The Ravens then welcome Wealdstone to Hayes Lane on 28 December, before welcoming Concord Rangers for the return fixture on New Years’ Day.

“We’ve got a busy 12 days coming up with four games.  It’s a period that tests and stretches everyone’s squads,” said Langton.

“We’ve got St Albans tomorrow first.  They’re a good side and showed that when we drew up at their place.  They’ve got some very dangerous players and one of the best goal poachers in the league in John Frendo.

“They’ve got a lot of players on loan from Dagenham, many of whom have first team experience.”

Concord Rangers are currently sitting in thirteenth-place in the table and sent Vanarama Conference leaders Barnet crashing out of The FA Trophy in the First Round following their impressive 6-2 away win.

The Beachboys – who like Bromley -  also reached the FA Cup First Round when they went down to a 1-0 defeat to Mansfield Town.

Wealdstone, who are presently hitting fame online thanks to the infamous Wealdstone Raider, suffered a 4-0 defeat to Bromley back in August and are presently sitting in the bottom five.

Langton said: “Although coming up we’ve got Concord twice, who are flying, and improving Wealdstone in between, at the moment we are only thinking about St Albans. That’s our only focus.

“I know it’s boring but it is one game at a time.

“We’ve prepared the best we can as usual at our fantastic new training ground and we are looking forward to the game.”
