There is competition for places up front, says Welling United boss Jamie Day

WELLING UNITED have signed striker Zac Attwood after a successful trial period at Park View Road.

Attwood played at Blue Square Bet Premier side Histon last year, scoring three goals, after having a brief spell in the USA.

Player-manager, Jamie Day told www.wellingunited.com :  “I’m pleased to have Zac on board.  He played in the Conference for Histon last year so a good addition to our squad.  It gives us four strikers to work with and competition for places.”

Day added: “He is a big strong lad who brings something different to the team.   He can also play left wing if needed.”

Day also confirmed that Welling have offered Steve Camacho a deal after playing in all of the Wings’ pre-season games.  However, the player has yet to decide whether to sign for the Blue Square Bet South outfit.

Welling United travel to play Kent League side Beckenham Town at Eden Park Avenue on Wednesday (7:45pm) and Day said today that "everyone will be involved," against Jason Huntley's men.
