THE BIG KICK OFF: Walker hands seven players their Ashford debuts - EXCLUSIVE
New Ashford Town boss, Clive Walker, cannot wait for his first game in charge - against Kingstonian on Saturday, writes Stephen McCartney.
The K’s arrive at The Homelands on Saturday, to find that Ashford Town are no longer an easy touch, with a new manager in charge and a team full of quality players.
And Walker, who guided Dover Athletic to the Ryman League Division One South play-off’s for the past two seasons, is expected to hand seven players their debuts.
“There will probably be seven making their debuts,” he revealed EXCLUSIVELY to www.kentishfootball.co.uk.
“It is a new squad and it takes a while to gel, but we think the quicker we get some points, the better.”
Walker is looking forward to locking horns with the Surrey giants.
He said: “They’re always strong, I think they’ve got a few new players but they’re a big club.
“They’re always going to be a bit of a set-up at that level.
“Everyone wants to get off to a good start, get the points in the bag early, it always makes it easy.”
Folkestone Invicta boss, Neil Cugley revealed tonight they he’s sent Charlie Glyde off to Ashford Town for a month’s loan.
