Monday 25th June 2007

Whitstable Town manager Marc Seager has revealed whilst on his holiday with his family in Portugal, that midfielder Jimmy Strouts has returned to Maidstone United to take over the job of coach in Alan Walker’s absence.

"When Jimmy joined the club he made no secret of his desire to move into coaching," Seager told www.whitstabletownfc.co.uk.

"We spoke about coaching when he joined us from Maidstone half way through last season and I agreed that if the right offer came along, he would go with our thanks and good wishes.

"The previous year he was part of the squad under Lloyd Hume and Walker that won promotion to the Ryman League.

"It’s a measure of his experience that he was part of the Whitstable Town squad, which did the same last season.

"Jimmy is a winner and we were lucky at Whitstable that we were able to call on his experience and professionalism at a time when we needed it.

"I know that Jimmy will do a good job for Maidstone in Walker’s absence and I wish Jimmy all the best and Alan a speedy recovery."
