Monday 11th August 2008

MAIDSTONE UNITED have now completed their squad for the new season, with the signing of striker Meshach Nugent.

Nugent, 24, joins the Stones from Ryman League Division One South side Dulwich Hamlet and has also played for Kent League side Greenwich Borough and Surrey outfit Chipstead.

“We are delighted to capture Meshach,” Stones joint-manager Alan Walker told www.maidstoneunited.co.uk.

“He will give us another option up front as he is very quick and strong and is a big physical presence.

“We have been looking for a big target man since Lynden Rowland left the club and he will add to the quality we already have in the squad.”

Maidstone United’s current squad is as follows:
Andy Walker, Steve Northwood, Nathan Paul, Roland Edge, Ben Lewis, Kevin Watson, Ian Cox, Aaron Lacy, Ian Selley, Jay Saunders, James Peacock, Elliot Bradbrook, John Wilfort, Keelan Mooney, James Pinnock, Andy Martin, Lloyd Blackman, Meshach Nugent.

The Stones begin their new Ryman Premier League campaign with a trip to Heybridge Swifts on Saturday and welcome Canvey Island to Bourne Park on Tuesday, 19th August.
