TWO Ryman Premier League clubs have added to their squads in the last 24 hours.

Ramsgate boss Jim Ward has unveiled the signing of defender Jake Eastwood, 25, on a two-year contract.

The central defender, who has signed from Thanet neighbours Margate, moved house in Northwood, Middlesex to Broadstairs a couple of years ago, and made his Margate debut in a Kent Senior Cup tie against Welling United last December.

Meanwhile, Dartford have today completed their fourth summer signing, attacking midfielder Steve Butterworth, from Ryman League Division One North outfit Redbridge.

The 22-year-old joined Redbridge (11 goals) from their rivals Great Wakering Rovers last December and netted 19 goals last season.

Darts boss Tony Burman has already completed the signings of striker Ray Powell (Tonbridge Angels) and midfielders Danny Dafter and Lee Nobel from Brentwood Town.

Former Wales manager Terry Yorath has been appointed as Margate’s new director of football.

The Ryman Premier League club said one of Yorath’s jobs would be to help new manager Barry Ashby settle into his role.

He will also take chief responsibility for the club’s long-term development.

Supporters will have the chance to question the former Leeds United, Tottenham Hotspur and Wales midfielder at a fans’ forum at Hartsdown Park tonight.

The local blonde haired player is the 10th signatory from last season’s squad to commit himself for the campaign ahead and negotiations with remaining players are ongoing.
