RAMSGATE manager Nick Davis has signed former Punjab United striker William Johnson-Cole.

The 24-year-old scored 10 goals in 20 appearances for Punjab United, while also scoring four goals for Sevenoaks Town in 19 appearances.

“Nick has been in contact with me a few times over the past couple of months and has been keeping tabs on me,” Johnson-Cole told www.ramsgate-fc.co.uk.

“Nick explained to me that he wants to build a team that’s hungry and ambitious as well.

“I’ve seen how the club is structured and whilst it’s going to be a challenging stepping up a level, it’s a challenge I’m excited to take on.

“With a manager like Nick behind me, I’m sure everything will flow nicely.

“I want to score goals and get assists, so ultimately my target is to have a positive impact on the team.

“We will try and push for promotion in the upcoming season.”

Ramsgate chief executive officer Paul Bowden-Brown added: “I would like to welcome Johnson-Cole to the club. If his pedigree is true, we have signed a young man who has a great future in professional football.

“I’m so glad that he has agreed to terms to be the next signing for the club. He becomes another piece in the jigsaw for Nick Davis, whilst he is rebuilding our team.

“It has been an extremely busy weekend and this week you will hear more about more additions to the squad.”
