SNODLAND TOWN manager Luke Wallond says his goal is to quality for the Southern Counties East Football League First Division play-offs for the first time.

The club are in fourth-place in the table, having collected 47 points and have 11 games left to cement their place in the play-off lottery.

Sutton Athletic occupy the sole promotion place, with Daniel Kelly’s side sitting on 54 points from 26 games.

The four play-off places are currently occupied by Stansfeld (53 points from 23 games), Tooting Bec (50 points from 26 games), Snodland Town and Bridon Ropes (47 points from 26 games).

Snodland Town have pulled out the stops in a bid to reach their goal, having captured midfielder Ben Davisson following his departure from Isthmian League South East Division side Sevenoaks Town and wideman Jamie Humphris has arrived on dual-registration terms from Combined Counties League Premier Division South title-challengers Beckenham Town.

Snodland Town lost their local derby at Larkfield & New Hythe by three goals to one last Saturday.

“We want to put our last game, a defeat at the hands of neighbours Larkfield, behind us,” said Wallond, lost lost to Kris Browning's top eight outfit.

“We weren’t too disappointed with the result, it was the manner that we lost.

“Considering the resources they have there but there is room for improvement in our game at the moment.

“We are looking forward to our long distanced trip to Westside tomorrow with a near to full strength squad.”

Westside are in their maiden season in this division and sit in eleventh-place in the pecking order, having banked 30 points from 26 games.

“We are expecting a difficult game tomorrow, even though we have won our last two meetings against them, the last of which was in The FA Vase,” added Wallond.

“We are reasonably happy with our season up to now, sitting fourth. We’re still in a play-off position, even though we have played more games than most.

“All we can do now is win the games in front of us and hope teams around us drop points.

“Our goal is still to get in the play-offs and we will do what we can to try and make that happen.

“Hopefully we can get a good result at Westside and that will put us in good stead to face in-form team Rochester United at home next Wednesday.”
