Snodland Town appoint Connor Dymond as their new manager while Corinthian begin search for new management team as Lee Scott and Steve Tindle return to manage under 23s

SNODLAND TOWN chairman Dave Jeal has appointed senior player Connor Dymond as the club’s new manager.

The 31-year-old will fulfil his playing duties as well as managing the club, alongside Martin McCarthy (assistant manager), Barry Bell (goalkeeper coach) and Rhys Terry (coach).

“Connor has been part of our playing staff and a leader both on and off the pitch this season,” said Mr Jeal,  in a statement, following yesterday’s appointment.

“When we met with him after he expressed interest in the vacant role, it was clear that many of our priorities were aligned.

“We’re excited that Connor will continue his journey with Snodland Town as player-manager.”

Dymond and McCarthy also manage the women’s side at Isthmian League Premier Division side Dartford.

Joint-managers Luke Jessup and Fred Dillon both departed Paddlesworth Road on 28 April after Snodland Town finished in a disappointing 12th placed finish in the ninth-tier Southern Counties East Football League Premier Division.

“I have decided to step down from my role as manager,” said Jessup in a statement.

“This has not been an easy decision but it is one I feel I need to make to better balance my family, work and personal life.

“Right now, I’m naturally devastated but I don’t feel I can give each area the full energy and focus it deserves and I want to be in a position where I can give 110% across everything I do.

“Snodland Town deserves a manager who can keep the club at the very front of their mind at all times and I believe this is the right time to step aside to allow that to happen.

“I want to put on record how truly incredible Snodland Town is as a club as well as ALL the people involved. The support system behind the team is first class and the backing over the last two seasons has been nothing short of magnificent.

“It has been a genuine honour to represent you and to be the manager of this football club.”

Meanwhile, Corinthian begin the search for a new management team after Lee Scott and Steve Tindle have stepped aside to manage the club’s under 23’s again next season.

The pair took charge of the Gay Dawn Farm outfit’s final 12 games of their Southern Counties East Football League Premier Division campaign where the club finished in fourteenth-place.

The Hoops - who operate with a zero playing budget - claimed four wins, four draws and four defeats during the time in the dug-out after replacing Keith McMahon, who’s last game in charge happened to be a 3-2 win at Larkfield & New Hythe on 24 January.

“Corinthain FC are sincerely grateful to both Lee Scott and Steve Tindle for stepping in to manage the first team during a challenging period,” said a club statement.

“Their professionalism, dedication and tireless work, along with that of first team coach Myles Warren, to guide the team for the last 12 games of the season was hugely appreciated by all at the club.

“Lee and Steve will now return to their roles as joint-managers of our very talented under 23 side and we now begin the process of recruiting our next first team manager.”
