We are expecting a strong second half to the season, says Snodland Town assistant manager Dave Jeal

SNODLAND TOWN assistant manager Dave Jeal says he’s feeling disappointed with his side’s poor run of form.

The newly-promoted side have slipped down to eleventh-place in the Southern Counties East Football League First Division table, having collected eight wins, two draws and 11 defeats in the league.

Snodland Town suffered a 5-2 defeat down at Lydd Town on 27 December and Jeal reflected: “We were very disappointed with the result at Lydd.  We played well in the first half but went in 2-1 down and when we made it 2-2 early in the second half I really expected us to go on and win the game.

“Unfortunately, we let in three terrible goals in the space of about five minutes and there was no way back. The lads were really disappointed in the manner we lost.

“Our current form is very poor with only one win in nine. We have been unlucky with injuries and suspensions but ultimately we must improve and quickly starting with our next game.”

Snodland Town host league leaders Rusthall on Monday.

“We play top-of-the-table Rusthall so we know it will be tough,” said Jeal.

“However, we have a good home record and we will go into the game expecting to get something out of it.

“All the lads are still learning a lot from being in this league. In the next few weeks we should have everybody available for selection so we are expecting a strong second half to the season.”
