Following our recent poor form, the game against Kent Football United is very important if we want to stay in the top three, says Snodland Town's Dave Jeal

SNODLAND TOWN assistant manager Dave Jeal says his side must get their season back on track against Kent Football United tomorrow.

Snodland Town have lost five of their last six games in all competitions and as a result are in third-place in the Southern Counties East Football League First Division table with 25 points from 15 games.

The club are nine points adrift of leaders K Sports, having played a couple of games more and six behind Punjab United, who have three games in hand.

“Following our recent poor form, the game against Kent Football United is very important if we want to stay in the top three,” said Jeal.

“Without making excuses, we have had our fair share of injuries recently and we know Kent Football are a strong side.  We played really well against them last season and should have won so we know we are capable of beating them.”

Snodland Town made the trip to Rotherhithe last weekend and suffered a 3-0 defeat to Fisher.

“We went to Fisher last week hoping to build on the previous Saturday’s win away to Holmesdale.  Unfortunately, we were second best on the day against a very good Fisher side, who will no doubt start to climb the league,” said Jeal.

“We gave away two goals in the first half and were totally outplayed, although we were better in the second half, Fisher got the third goal they deserved to kill the game off.”

Jeal has called upon support from their fans and for their players to make sure their good start to their second season at this level not to be undone.

He said: “The message to our supporters is please continue to get behind the lads.  Before the season started we would have been happy to go into November in third place.

“We started the season really well and it’s a shame we have come up short in recent weeks, but this is a young side with lots more to learn in only our second season in this league.

“I am confident if we perform at the level we showed earlier in the season we will get the three points and get our season back on track.”
