Slade Green unveil new management team
Kent League side Slade Green are pleased to announce their new management team for the 2006/07 season.
Danny Evans has been appointed first team manager with Adam Heaslewood taking over the reigns of player coach.
This is Evans’ first venture into football management following a coveted playing career that has scanned both the Kent and Southern Leagues.
During this time he has worn the colours of Dartford, Cray Wanderers, Thamesmead Town (two spells), Beckenham Town, Greenwich Borough and Thames Poly.
The 35-year-old defender can also boast a host of silverware to his name having won two Kent League titles (Cray Wanderers), three Kent Senior Trophy’s (Dartford, Cray Wanderers and Thamesmead Town), one Kent League Cup (Cray Wanderers) along with a Kent League Runners Up medal (Dartford) and Kent League Cup Runners Up medal (Cray Wanderers).
Heaslewood was a team mate of Evans from the Cray Wanderers' side that won back to back Kent League titles.
Having helped the Wands to promotion to the Ryman League he then played a pivotal role in them reaching the Ryman League promotion Play Offs where that narrowly lost to Horsham in extra time.
During his time with Cray Wanderers along with those two Kent League titles he also won the Kent League Cup, Kent Senior Trophy and also picked up a Kent League Cup Runners Up and Kent Senior Trophy Runners Up medal.
On top of this he helped them reach the quarter finals of the FA Vase in 2004.
Last season Heaslewood was hampered by injury and was loaned out by Ian Jenkins to Thamesmead Town before ending the season with Erith Town.
He can boast an impressive Coaching CV. He is a UEFA B part 1 qualified Coach and has also completed the NSCCA coaching scholarship in the USA.
A statement issued on their website said: “The Committee of Slade Green F.C. would like to put on record their sincere thanks to previous managers Phil Miles and Terry Malin for their hard work and endeavour for the past five season’s, and at the same time look forward to working with Danny and Adam during the forthcoming season.”
