Saturday 14th July 2007

Following last week’s planning meeting, Bexley Council have granted Kent League club Slade Green planning permission to finally install a new 162 seater stand at The Small Glen.

The stand will include wheelchair access complete with disabled seating.

A full interview with chairman Mr Bruce Smith will appear on the club website next week.

Meanwhile, Slade Green will face a total of seven pre-season friendlies as new boss Peter Little prepares his side for their new Kent League campaign.

Green’s pre-season opposition spans five different leagues and they kick off at Essex Olympian League outfit Frenford next Saturday, 21st July.

They then face Essex Senior League opposition in the shape of Mauritius Sports & Pennant away three days later, before welcoming Stanstead to The Small Glen.

A trip to Kent County League side Bromley Sports will then be followed by three consecutive home games.

Local league side Running Horses will visit Slade Green on Thursday, 2nd August, before the club finally play stronger opponents in Ryman League Division One South club Chatham Town (Saturday, 4th August), and Kent County Leaguers Crockenhill (Tuesday, 7th August).
