We're looking to be as successful as we can be on all fronts, says Sevenoaks Town boss Harry Hudson

SEVENOAKS TOWN manager Harry Hudson says he’s feeling excited ahead of their Isthmian League South East Division opener at home to Three Bridges tomorrow.

The Oaks are expected to be challenging for promotion from the Isthmian League South East Division come the end of the season.

Sevenoaks Town kicked-off their campaign by beating Horley Town 5-0 in The FA Cup Extra Preliminary Round last weekend and welcome Three Bridges to Greatness Park with high expectations.

“Really excited to have the first league match,” said the former Croydon, Whyteleafe and Glebe manager.

“We played in The FA Cup last week and despite not playing particularly well in the first half, it was good to get through in that competition.

“But we expect a far sterner test against Three Bridges.  They’re a good side and plays some good football, so we know it’s going to be a really difficult test for us.

“In terms for us in the league, we’re looking to be as successful as we can be on all fronts.

“It’s going to be a really open league with lots of teams who think they’re going to have a real good chance and we put ourselves in that bracket.

“We just want to take each game as it comes and prepare the best we can for it and if we do that we give ourselves a good chance of winning more games than we’re losing.”

Hudson was pleased with the numbers of away fans that followed them to Horley last weekend and urges more fans to come and watch his side – one that plays football on the deck as they look to vastly improve on a thirteenth-place finish last season.

Hudson has been in charge of Sevenoaks Town for 10 games.  His side were held to a 1-1 draw at Corinthian on his first game in charge of the club on 26 February, after leaving Glebe in third-place in the Southern Counties East Football League Premier Division, and went on to win eight of his next nine games, finishing the season with a 2-1 win at champions Hastings United.

Hudson said: “Please continue to support us.  The last game against Horley we had a really well attended away support, which was amazing.

“We want to build the crowds and get as many people coming down as possible and the 12th man atmosphere on game day.  Please continue to come and bring more supporters and really support the club.

“It’s really exciting times for us, with the new clubhouse 12 months away.

“We’re looking forward to it and hopefully tomorrow is the start of a positive season for us.”
