Mark Dacey steps down as Sevenoaks Town manager for personal reasons after four players leave Greatness Park this summer
SEVENOAKS TOWN chairman Paul Lansdale begins the search for a new manager after Mark Dacey resigned due to personal reasons.
The Isthmian League South East Division outfit announced that Dacey had signed a new one-year deal to remain in charge of the Greatness Park outfit on 28 April.
However, the club said it was “with deep regret” that they have today accepted the resignation of Dacey “for personal reasons.”
Dacey's management team of Kevin Rawlinson, Adam Flemming, Danny Rose and Junior James have also left the club.
Mr Lansdale added: “I’m extremely sad to announce that Mark has resigned as manager.
“We are privileged to have worked with him – he has worked so hard as both manager and assistant manager over the course of the last two years and has always put the club first.”
Dacey took the helm at Greatness Park on 12 November 2023 after Harry Hudson resigned to take a job at Southampton.
The Oaks finished in tenth-place in the table, having picked up 13 wins, seven draws and 18 defeats in their 38 league outings.
Dacey was in charge of 29 games in all competitions and Sevenoaks Town picked up eight wins, six draws and suffered 15 defeats.
“I’d be lying if I said this decision didn’t cut deep,” said Dacey.
“Thank you to the wider community of the club. All the players over the two plus years, the board and of course the backroom staff past and present. To the Lansdale family, especially Paul, for trusting me. Forever a fan.”

Daniel Bennett, Rian Bray, Corey Holder and Ricardo Thompson have all left the eighth-tier club this summer.
