We still feel a top eight position finish is achievable for our first season at this level, says APM Contrast boss Kris Browning
SEVEN ACRE & SIDCUP boss Lee Hill says he’s expecting a tough test against APM Contrast tomorrow.
The Acre go into the Bayliss Avenue clash sitting in 11th-place in the Pain & Glory Sports Kent Invicta League table, having won 9 and lost 9 of their 19 league outings.
Hill’s side last played on Boxing Day when they found themselves 2-0 down to Eltham Palace, but goals from Anthony Fenech and Tony Ecuyer levelled things up before the break before Josh Patrick and Tony Hill scored in the second half to win the game 4-2.
“This week we entertain APM in which will be a good game having played them twice already this season winning 2-0 in the League and losing 1-0 in the Invicta Cup, both being close games,” said the club’s manager/owner.
“APM are a well-organised team and it will be a tough test.
“We have been too inconsistent this season and we need to improve and try and push on in the New Year.”
APM Contrast, meanwhile, are enjoying a decent debut campaign and go into the game sitting in the top seven.
The artist formerly known as Aylesford Paper Mills have won nine, drawn four and lost seven in the league this season.
“We go to Seven Acre in good form, confident and good squad,” said Paperboys’ manager Kris Browning.
“Our last game we were unlucky away to Sheppey, in injury time in what would be one of our best performances of the season.
“Over the Christmas period we have added and strengthened our squad and are happy to be sitting in seventh position and still in a Cup Quarter-Final going into the New Year.
“We’re still enjoying our time in the Invicta League and we still feel a top eight position finish is achievable for our first season at this level.”
There will be an 11:00 pitch inspection on Saturday morning.
