Seats installed at Northfleet End

Friday 08th September 2006

The on-going saga of the Northfleet End at Stonebridge Road has finally come to an end with the installation of 558 seats (last reported figure) in time for a very big week at Gravesend & Northfleet Football Club, writes Stephen McCartney.

Charlton Athletic’s reserves welcome their Chelsea counterparts on Monday, kicking off at 7pm.

Season ticket holders of the Fleet or the Addicks are admitted free of charge, whilst other fans pay just £3 (adults) or £1.50 (concessions).

Then Liam Daish’s side take on their high-flying neighbours from across the River Thames, Grays Athletic in a mouth-watering Nationwide Conference clash on Tuesday night.

This game kick’s off at the usual 7:45pm, and admission prices are the usual prices for first team games at the Fleet, £12 (adults) and £6 (concessions).

This is bound to be an exciting encounter as the Fleet aim to climb the table.

Then on Thursday 14 September, Stonebridge Road stages a FA Youth Cup preliminary round clash between Gravesend & Northfleet and Chatham Town.

The Chats are renowned for bringing players through the ranks at Maidstone Road and there is no doubt that players who will play at Stonebridge Road will progress into their Ryman League side.

The winners shall travel to Kent League neighbours Erith & Belvedere, who play at Park View Road Welling, in the next round.

Admission prices are £4 (adults) and £2 (concessions) and the game starts at 7:45pm.

Exeter City are the visitors on Saturday (3pm) in the Nationwide Conference and the feast of football ends when Charlton Athletic’s Ladies take on Bristol Academy the following day.

That game starts at 2pm and admission prices are £4 (adults) and £2 (concessions).
