Seager snaps up Kent League stars
Whitstable Town, preparing for their first ever season in the Ryman League, have unveiled a double signing from their former Kent League rivals.
Midfielder Sam Denly has arrived from Herne Bay, whilst highly-rated full-back Danny Tipple, formerly of Fisher Athletic, has signed from Greenwich Borough.
Whitstable Town manager, Marc Seager, who clinched the Kent League title and Kent Senior Trophy in his first ever season as a manager, told www.whitstabletownfc.co.uk that he was delighted with his double capture.
“After a couple of very enjoyable first days back at pre-season, I am very pleased to announce that Herne Bay midfielder Sam Denly and Greenwich Borough full-back Danny Tipple, have both agreed to join us at The Belmont as we look forward to our new adventure in the Ryman League,” said Rainham resident Seager.
“Last season’s achievements, although very enjoyable and exciting, are now for the memory banks, and I believe it is now very important that we don’t get caught up in the euphoria of last season’s success, but we now move on and concentrate on the season ahead.
“Although we as a club enjoyed great success last season, as a manager you never stop looking to improve your team no batter how good or how successful you are.
“And I believe the signings of Sam Denly and Danny Tipple followed by another one or two, will confirm the ambitions of this football club, as we look forward to our first season as a Ryman League club.”
Seager explained what the pair will bring to the Oysterboys next season.
Speaking about Denly, Seager said: “Sam is a player that I have always respected and rated very highly and after undeniable loyalty shown to local rivals Herne Bay over the past couple of season’s, I am so pleased that he has got the ambition to play at a higher level and pleased that he see’s his future is here with us at The Belmont.
And speaking about pint-sized Tipple, Seager said: “Danny is another player that was high on my wanted list after his impressive displays against us last season for Greenwich Borough.
“Although not the biggest height wise, I didn’t see too many bigger hearts that Danny’s last season and on top of that, the lad is a great footballer, who will give us a lot of pace down the left hand side.
“I honestly can’t wait to see Sam and Danny wearing the red of Whitstable Town and wish them both all the best for the forthcoming future because I’m sure, along with everyone else at the club, they are both looking forward to the excitement of Ryman League football.”
Meanwhile, Whitstable Town don’t have to wait long for their fixture list, as the Ryman Football League are expected to unveil their fixtures at some point tomorrow.
