Seager: Reaching final is icing on the cake

Wednesday 22nd March 2006
Whitstable Town’s reserves reached the Kentish Observer League Reserve Division Cup final last night, much to the delight of first team boss Marc Seager.

The Oystermen draw 1-1 at Folkestone Invicta’s Buzzlines Stadium last night, winning the tie 6-2 on aggregate.

They shall meet Dartford in the final, who got past Ashford Town in the other semi-final.

Seager, who missed a penalty in their 1-0 first team defeat at Erith & Belvedere on Saturday, told www.whitstabletownfc.co.uk:  : “Delighted for Simon, Peter and Colin and all the lads who have made the step up to the first division this year in some style.

”Getting to a cup final is the icing on the cake.  It’s a great achievement for the team, the management and the club.

”They need to keep this going now and take this form into the final – it should be a great day out for the club.”
